Award Terms and Conditions
Please take the time to read and adhere to the rules and terms of entry listed before you start writing your submission.
These terms and conditions should be read and accepted by you. When submitting your submission(s), you will be asked to accept that by entering the Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2025, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Rules and Terms and Conditions:
• Entry to the Make UK Manufacturing Awards is free of charge.
• Entries are open until midnight on 27 June 2025. Make UK reserve the right to extend the deadline.
• Entries must be submitted electronically through the online portal. Entries must be submitted in English.
• Entries are treated in confidence.
• Qualification of entry:
- Business entries: The success story you are submitting must have been implemented and delivered in the past three years. You may only re-enter a previous story if you have made significant updates or changes.
- Apprentice entries: You must be enrolled in an appropriate apprenticeship programme during the year 2025.
• The Awards are open to all manufacturing organisations and their supply chains.
• Limited supporting information is permitted, and you are able to upload this at the end of your entry form. A maximum of one video upload and 4 further documents. Any more than five will not be considered part of the entry. Please be aware that any website links used within your entry will not be activated by the judges. A photo of the nominated apprentice is required and must be provided where requested. This does not count towards the five pieces of supporting evidence permitted
• There is a maximum word count per question.
• Entry to more than one category is allowed. However please note the following:
- Business Entry: Only one submission to each category will be permitted per company. A company may enter multiple categories, but the entrant should ensure their submission answers are tailored to each category and are relevant. A simple copy and paste will be marked down.
- Apprentice Entry: Employers may enter unlimited apprentices per site for each apprentice award category. It is the duty of the entrant to ensure they are entering into the correct category. Entering into the incorrect category may result in disqualification. Please check with the Make UK Awards Team if you are unsure or would like further clarification before submitting your entry.
• Entries will be judged by an independent and impartial panel of judges.
• Apprentice Entries: By entering, nominated apprentices commit to taking part in the interview stages of the regional and national judging should they be required. Please see www.makeuk.org/awards for updated details. Successful candidates will be notified of the details via email if they are successful.
• Regional winners will proceed to the National Competition and be in the running for the National Awards. Entry into this competition commits the nominated company/ apprentice/ individual to secure the availability of a representative to take part in the National Judging Day, if invited. Please see www.makeuk.org/awards for updated details.
• Regional award winners may be required to provide a photo of themselves/ their team alongside their factory or in their workplace for use in promotional material.
• Entrants may be asked for additional supporting information at the national judging stage.
• One of the business entries at the national judging will be selected as Manufacturer of the Year.
• Incomplete entries will not be judged.
• All entries will be acknowledged on receipt. Entry forms will become the property of EEF Ltd/Make UK and entries will not be returned. If no receipt of entry is received within 5 working days email awards@makeuk.org. Proof of sending/ submitting an entry is not proof of receipt by EEF Ltd/Make UK or its agents.
• Winning entries may be publicised. Applicants are responsible for making appropriate arrangements to protect any intellectual property associated with their application. Entrants must be prepared to participate in post event publicity associated with the awards. No company sensitive information will be included without prior agreement.
• EEF Ltd/Make UK reserve the right to withdraw an award from any applicant supplying false/fraudulent/inappropriate information within their entry. Judges reserve the right to audit any information supplied.
• EEF Ltd/Make UK reserves the right to update, change or drop categories where required.
• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• No employee of EEF Ltd/Make UK or their families shall be entitled to enter.

• Data storage - By entering the Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2023 you consent to your contact details being stored by EEF Ltd/Make UK for the sole purpose of both the current and future Make UK Manufacturing Awards communications only.
• Other Make UK Communications - By opting in to other Make UK communications you consent to your contact details being shared within EEF Ltd/Make UK for communications relating to the themes, topics and future relevant events. If you do not wish for your details to be stored or used for this purpose please select NO. If you wish to opt out at a later date please email awards@makeuk.org.
• By registering and completing an entry for the awards you agree to these rules.
Dinner Events Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions should be read and accepted by you. You accept that by purchasing a ticket for this event, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
If you select 'invoice' as your payment method for dinner tickets, you are obliged to make payment. Until payment is received, your registration will not be processed. The cost of the event is subject to current UK VAT rates.

Force Majeure; EEF Limited (trading as Make UK) will not be liable for any refunds whatsoever if the event is delayed, cancelled or you are unable to attend due to any event beyond our reasonable control including any act of God, terrorism or severe weather conditions.
All refund requests will be processed in accordance with our usual refund terms:
- Cancellations received in writing by 5pm up to 14 working days before the event date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total invoiced. Make UK regrets that we cannot give refunds for cancellations after this date, although substitute guests are very welcome.

Data storage - By registering for this event you consent to your contact details being stored by EEF Limited (trading as Make UK) for the sole purpose of both the current and future Awards communications only.

Third parties - By opting in for third party communications you consent to your contact details being shared with the third parties directly involved in the Make UK Manufacturing Awards and/or Regional Dinners. Such as product and industry information, publications, newsletters, event invitations and other promotions. If you do not wish for your details to be stored or used for this purpose, please select No when booking your ticket. If you wish to opt out at a later date, please email awards@makeuk.org.
Event Code of Conduct
As a member of Make UK staff, a Make UK member company, or a registered delegate attending a Make UK event, the following guidance sets out how we can all have a successful and enjoyable event. Every attendee is responsible for his/her/their own language and behaviour and must treat others with dignity and respect.
This code relates both to conduct in person and online, including via social media. All event attendees are asked to conduct themselves professionally and ethically at all times. All attendees should refrain from any activity which could bring Make UK or the UK manufacturing sector into disrepute. Where alcohol is served we encourage responsible consumption as appropriate for a professional event and in keeping with the high standards set out in this Code of Conduct. Make UK also has a zero tolerance approach to the use of illegal substances. Anyone suspected of possessing or using such substances will be asked to leave and will be reported to the police. Should you have any concerns about the conduct of any attendee at a Make UK event.
please raise this immediately with our designated responsible individual. This will be a member of Make UK staff. Should you need assistance please ask any member of Make UK staff to direct you confidentially to the designated responsible individual at any time. If for whatever reason you are not able to raise your concerns at the event it is not too late to contact us afterwards, at any point. We would ask you to contact us via Make UK HR Centralhr@makeuk.org so that we can investigate and take any necessary action. If you disclose information in accordance with this policy, wherever reasonably practicable we will keep your identity confidential. Make UK reserves the right to decline admittance or request an individual leaves an event if that person is not acting in accordance with this conduct guide at any time.
Make UK also reserves the right to share any relevant information about event conduct with a member company if necessary.
